Leadership English (FLEND-Based)
Leadership English at High Up Academy is a transformative program that goes far beyond traditional language learning. It is designed for students who want to master English while becoming confident, compassionate, and future-ready leaders. Grounded in the innovative FLEND approach (Flip & Blend Integrated), the course blends language development with leadership training, digital fluency, and real-world engagement.
Throughout the program, students move through four dynamic stages:
- In the Prelude stage, they are introduced to powerful global themes such as identity, sustainability, empathy, innovation, and social justice. They analyze inspiring quotes, explore vocabulary, and engage in reflective discussions that lay the foundation for leadership thinking.
- In the Flip stage, learners explore multimedia resources—such as TED Talks, leadership articles, interviews, and social issue documentaries—outside the classroom, enhancing both language input and independent thought.
- In the Blend stage, students return to the classroom to debate, write, reflect, and collaborate. They engage in public speaking, persuasive writing, and interactive problem-solving, all while deepening their critical thinking and communication skills.
- The Project stage is where theory becomes practice. Students take the lead in designing and running real-life projects, using English as a working tool for meaningful action. These projects include:
- Community service initiatives like Hearts of Gold, where students help children in underprivileged areas.
- Student-led tech and AI workshops that promote ethical digital literacy.
- Youth-driven events such as STUDCON, STUDEXPO, STUDDOC, and RAMADAN CON, which combine cultural expression, leadership, and creative media production.
The Leadership English program is built on the belief that language is not only for communication—but for transformation. Students don’t just talk about leadership; they live it. They become articulate, responsible, and proactive individuals who are ready to make an impact in their communities and beyond.
This approach has been recognized and shared at international education conferences, where the FLEND model continues to inspire educators looking to bridge classroom learning with real-world leadership.
